As part of our new range of petrol injection products, Hiflo is proud to announce the release of crank, cam and throttle position sensors. The sensors are equivalent to or better quality than OEM parts, at a fraction of the cost, continuing with Hiflo's aim to provide top quality replacement components at the best possible price. Again the sensors are backed by the Hiflo name, and warranty, and have been specially manufactured to Hiflo's stringent quality standards to ensure long, trouble free operation.
Today's modern engines require accurate information from a variety of sensors. Throttle position sensors are used to accurately advise the vehicles ECU of the exact throttle location. Crank and cam position sensors are capable of measuring crankshaft and camshaft rotation to within 1 degree per revolution, and are available in many different types, from inductive style sensors, to Hall Effect, and optical units that are now commonly used on Japanese and American built engine management systems.
The one thing they have in common is that if they are not operating correctly, the engine management system will receive the wrong information, and will cause excessive fuel consumption, poor vehicle drivability, and in the worst case, a vehicle breakdown. Sensors can fail at any time, often with little or no warning of any impending problems. |
